Our History

Barney Conway was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. After high school, he studied engineering and went on to serve as chief engineer for three North Carolina radio stations: WIAM in Williamston, WEEW in Washington, and WITN in Washington.

In 1971, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, beginning a new chapter in radio and television with WGST Radio and the Turner News Network, where he worked as a news anchor.

His career then expanded into the recording industry, earning 29 placements on the Billboard Top 100 across multiple genres—including gospel, which brought five Grammy nominations. He also served as a guest lecturer on the commercial music production program at Georgia State University.

Conway spent many years as Children’s Music Pastor at Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta.

He returned to eastern North Carolina in 2006 and began offering wedding officiant services back in 2011, a role he continues to fulfill today.
